Who we are
The AfriChild Centre generates research that contributes to the evidence base to improve the lives and wellbeing of the African child. It does this in collaboration with the public and private sectors,academia and civil society.
The AfriChild Centre through it’s mandate to improve the lives and wellbeing of the African child adheres to the following principles. It is through these principles that we run our day-to-day activities.
We are a Centre of Excellence that puts children at the center of our work
Our approach is ethical, respectful and based on the ‘do no harm’ principle.
We are committed to engaging in public – private partnerships to influence positive change;
We are committed to innovative interdisciplinary research to improve the welfare of the African child;
We are dedicated to developing and strengthening research capacities on Children within Uganda and the region;
Translating research into action
We are committed to translating research findings into practice and policy change for sustainable development and;
We seek to work within the framework of child rights that includes equity and diversity.
